Theme: Bridging Divides and Building Peaceful Communities

Date: May 1st–3rd, 2025

Venue: KPPC Center, Oloosuyian, Kajiado Central

Target Audience: Religious Leaders, Theologians, and Interfaith Practitioners

The Kenyan Program on Pedagogies for Community (KPPC) is pleased to announce the Religious leaders Conference which is the 2nd KPPC conference on Living with Differences. A transformative three-day event designed for religious leaders committed to fostering peace, bridging divides, and creating resilient communities.

Program Highlights


  • Day 1:


    • Overview of conference theme and objective

    • Interactive sessions introducing the Communities Engaging with Difference and Religion pedagogy and the importance of boundaries in building peaceful communities.

    • Discussion of Rule 1, The importance of boundaries (Boundaries connect as well as divide)

    • Group discussions on overcoming prejudice within faith teachings and practices.

    • Movie Night: Screening of a film on interfaith tensions in Kenya (the tension between Muslims and Christians in Kibra)



  • Day 2:

    • Travel to Machakos for an immersive experience exploring cultural heritage and spirituality at a Kamba shrine.

    • Facilitation.

    • Discussion of Rule 6- Being uncomfortable (Uncomfortable is not unsafe.

    • Panel discussion with interfaith leaders sharing success stories of coexistence.



  • Day 3:

    • Attend a Catholic Church service in Oloosuyian to experience community worship.

    • Facilitation (having group prompts to engage emotions and feelings)

    • Practical facilitation sessions on building resilience and fostering collaboration across faith divides.

This conference is open to religious leaders who are:


  • Actively engaged in promoting peace and unity within their communities.

  • Interested in addressing interfaith tensions and fostering collaboration.

  • Committed to building bridges across social, cultural, and religious divides.
